Proteins consists of organic compounds that occur naturally know as amino acids. Generally, there are 20 types of amino acids which our body needs to take from the foods. Some of these are essential and others the body can make. Certain foods provide complete protein. This means they contain all the essential amino acids the body needs. Other foods contain various combinations of amino acids.
Fats are essential for helping organs produce hormones, lubricating joints, reducing inflammation, enabling the body to absorb vitamins and minerals, and preserving the brain. However, too much fat can cause obesity, liver disease, high cholesterol and other health complications. Unsaturated fats, such as olive oil, are more healthful than saturated fats, which tend to come from animals.
On average an adult body is up to 60% water. The body needs water for many processes. Water does not contain any calories thus does not provide any energy. You should be drinking at least two litres of water per day. However, it can also come from dietary sources, such as fruit and vegetables too. Adequate hydration is necessary for the human body.
